Julie B. Babb -- Bio

PERSONAL:
Born Julia Sheridan Brennan, New York city, 1942. Moved to Mexico City, Mexico, as a very young child. Attended Lycee Franco-Mexicaine, in Mexico city, for both elementary and secondary schooling. Completed two years college at Mexico City College (now called the University Of The Americas, in Puebla, Mexico) before moving to Maine in 1962. Attended University of Maine at Orono, met current husband Bruce E. Babb, of Falmouth, ME. Married same year, moved to Rochester NY in 1963 for Bruce's employment with Eastman Kodak Co. Upon Bruce's retirement from Kodak, moved back to Maine in 1992. Two daughters, three grandchildren.

EDUCATION:
One Course Art History, two semesters Life Drawing, Mexico City College.
Five years of various classes at Memorial Art Gallery Creative Workshop, University of Rochester, Rochester NY, including Color Theory, and painting in various media -- however, main focus was on Classical Drawing techniques and portraiture.(Studied with Peter Berg, Susan Carter, two weeks with Zoltan Szabo)
Three years of classes at Round Top Center For The Arts, Damariscotta, ME, including Drawing and Life Drawing. (Studied with Elizabeth Knox, Kathleen Galligan)
Cornell Lab of Ornithology's Home Study Bird Biology Course (2004)
Drawing with John Whalley (2005)
Three day workshop with Katie Lee, Botanical Illustration, (2005)
